Knit Umeälven – a colorful traditional pattern with a history that winds its way along the Vindel River and Ume River in Västerbotten! Knitting expert Erika Nordvall Falck has traced the history of the pattern and brought the old design back to life. The pattern is based on a wonderful pair of mittens knitted by Anna Gret Oskarsson (née Öhman, born in Norrfors in 1923) for her teenage son Mats in 1949. A true pattern treasure with a very distinctive top, perfect for anyone looking for a fun knitting challenge!
The pattern includes clear charts and instructions for women’s and men’s sizes as well as two children’s sizes. You can choose to follow the original color scheme or create your own variation.
The knitting pattern is in Swedish.
