Kit with knitting pattern by Erika Nordvall Falck and yarn from Stoorstålka (Pattern available in Swedish only.)
A knitting kit to create the Star Mitten from Norrfjärden, a historical pattern featuring an eight-pointed star motif. The original mitten was found as a worn remnant in a shed outside Piteå and was later identified as having been knitted by Ethel Johanna Nyström from the village of Antnäs. It gained wide attention in the national mitten exhibition that toured Sweden starting in 2016 and is also featured in the book Marknadsvantar.
The pattern was developed by knitting expert Erika Nordvall Falck and includes clear instructions for two women’s sizes (approx. 10 and 11 cm wide), with small variations. The structure of the design allows for individual colour choices – but this kit includes a ready-selected combination in bluegreen and light grey.
Needles not included. Recommended size: 2.00 mm double-pointed needles.
